Situational Analysis
One environmental factor that will impact my marketing plan is the economic aspect. While the goal of this idea is to take a financial burden off of students, that does not mean the service will be entirely free. It cannot be free because we need the income to continue to advance the practice. So economically it has been proven that “health care costs as a percentage of the gross domestic product have risen steadily from the 1980s until the end of the last decade” (Berkowitz, 2024). This is going to affect my plan because while it will be a cheaper way to have access to health care for the students, it will also still be a burden to some. Another environmental force that will be helpful is the technology factor. Technology and the access we have to technology through the campus will allow the providers to provide the best service possible. It will also help the university stay up to date with the most advanced technology and stay competitive with other schools.

A competitor for my organization is IU Indianapolis Campus Health. They offer a lot of the same services I am planning to offer with my organization. Some of their strengths include accessibility and the number of services they offer. But a weakness that I noticed is their hours. Most days they close at 5pm and they are only open on weekdays, not providing care on weekends. As a student at this school, I personally have class from 10:30am – 5:30 pm so those hours would not be the easiest for me to make work. As I mentioned they also do not provide weekend services, so those students who have class and work on days they do not have class may not always have the time to get the care they need or even a checkup. An advantage they have is that they are established and have been doing this longer than my organization will have. They have had time to find and work out the kinks that will arise with this organization. They have also built a report with the student to implementing another organization very similar will be difficult to build a clientele.
